Prepare for disaster before it happens

With wildfires being fought in our region, it is important during this time of heightened awareness to prepare for other emergencies or natural disasters. Ensure your household is ready for emergencies by building a “go kit” with essential disaster survival items; consolidating and securing important documents; and by going over safety plans with members of your household for a variety of potential emergencies. To learn more, visit www.ready.gov, and sign up for Routt County emergency alerts at www.RouttCountyAlerts.com.

Beginning July 24, 2017 changes were made to the way customers can enter and exit the Yampa Valley Electric Association (YVEA) office located at 2211 Elk River Road, Steamboat Springs, CO:

• The Elk Road north gate is closed to all customers.

• The Elk Road south gate is opened from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
